About the Role

Mathnasium of Clifton Park is seeking a highly motivated and engaging Lead Instructor/Educator to join our team and help us change the way children learn math!
This is a key leadership and teaching role that requires you to be an expert in mathematics across all grade levels, from elementary school through high school (including Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus). You will be responsible for creating an encouraging and motivating learning environment, managing instructional flow, and leading a team of tutors.
During each shift, the Lead Instructor serves as the on-floor instructional leader: helping manage student flow, supporting instructors with questions, monitoring student work, and keeping sessions organized and productive.
Our Clifton Park center is a welcoming learning environment with modern facilities and ample parking on Route 146.
Responsibilities
- Instructional Leadership: Teach students across K-12 math levels using the Mathnasium Method while modeling strong instructional habits for the team
- Floor Management: Help manage student flow, help cards, seating, pacing, and transitions so sessions run smoothly
- Instructor Support: Serve as the first point of support for instructors during shift and provide clear, in-the-moment coaching
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor student binders, learning plan progress, and work accuracy, and flag concerns to center leadership
- Student & Family Experience: Maintain positive, professional interactions with students and families and help create a welcoming center environment
- Center Operations: Support material prep, organization, cleaning, and shift task completion as part of the center team
Qualifications
- Math Proficiency: Strong command of mathematics from K-12, including advanced high school math, with calculus experience a plus
- Experience: Previous teaching, tutoring, Mathnasium, or instructional leadership experience is highly preferred
- Communication & Coaching: Clear verbal communication skills and comfort giving real-time support and constructive feedback to instructors
- Floor Management: Able to manage multiple students, priorities, and team needs at once while staying organized and calm
- Reliability: Must be reliable, punctual, and able to commit to at least 4 of the 5 weekly open shifts, plus preparation time before opening
- Education: A Bachelor's degree (or pursuing one) in a related field (Mathematics, Education, Engineering, etc.) is strongly preferred
Schedule
Part-time: Must be available for at least 4 of the 5 weekly open shifts, plus preparation time before opening. Mon–Thurs: 4:00–8:00 p.m., Sat: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
