About the Role
Do you enjoy working with kids and helping them build confidence in math? We're looking for part-time Middle & High School Math Tutors to work at our Westmere location.
At Mathnasium, we're not just about getting the correct answers. We help students feel capable, encouraged, and even excited about math. You'll use our proven Mathnasium Method to support kids in a warm, structured environment that makes math make sense.
Our Westmere center is located in a convenient shopping plaza on Western Avenue with easy access from Albany, Guilderland, and surrounding communities.
This is an excellent opportunity for college students, future teachers, or anyone who loves math and wants to make a positive impact.
Responsibilities
- •Work with grades 6–12 students on middle school math through pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and precalculus
- •Use the Mathnasium Method to guide students through personalized learning materials (we provide all training and materials)
- •Help students stay focused, ask questions, and build confidence
- •Work with 1–3 students in an engaging, in-person center environment
- •Track progress and celebrate student wins—big and small
Qualifications
- ✓Strong understanding of math through at least Algebra II; higher-level math is a plus
- ✓Friendly, patient, and able to build rapport with teens
- ✓Able to explain math concepts clearly and encourage students along the way
- ✓Comfortable following a structured teaching method (training provided)
- ✓Available to work at least two consistent shifts per week
- ✓Must be able to work in person during our center hours
Schedule
Part-time: Must be available at least 2 days per week. Mon–Thurs: 3:00–8:00pm, Sat: 10:00am–2:00pm
